This session is a basic overview of understanding foreign tax credits and is geared towards those attendees with little or no background in this area. This program will start with a basics overview of foreign tax credit mechanics under various code sections. Also, foreign tax credit limitations, the look through rules, foreign source losses, foreign tax credit redeterminations, merger & acquisitions transactions, interest and R&D expense apportionment rules, as well as sourcing rules effecting foreign tax credit limitations.
