Catharine Gustafson is a Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ New York-based Structured Finance Group (SFG), where she specializes in providing accounting advisory services to SFG’s major financial services clients – chiefly investment and commercial banks, investment partnerships and insurance companies.  She closely monitors the FASB’s SPE consolidation project and financial instruments projects, and frequently provides consultation on these subjects.  Ms. Gustafson has experience advising multi-national financial institutions on transaction structuring and accounting, the accounting and reporting of complex financial instruments, and derivatives and hedging. Prior to joining the Structured Finance Group in 2000, Ms. Gustafson was part of the Business Assurance Capital Markets Practice within PwC. Ms. Gustafson graduated in 1997 from Georgetown University, where she majored in Accounting.  Ms. Gustafson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
