Jeffrey H. Koppele is a partner of Thacher Proffitt & Wood, based in the New York office.  He practices in the area of U.S. income tax, with an emphasis on structured finance, securitization and other financial products transactions.  He advises clients on the federal income tax aspects of a broad array of structured finance and securitization transactions, including the issuance of debt and other securities in connection with mortgage-backed and asset-backed securitizations and CDOs, as well as in domestic and international corporate finance and capital markets transactions.  His financial products and derivatives experience includes structuring domestic and cross-border credit default swaps, credit linked notes, synthetic securitizations, interest rate swaps, caps, floors and collars, and leasing transactions.  Mr. Koppele is a member of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association.  He received his J.D., cum laude, and LL.M. in Taxation from New York University and a B.S., with honors, from the University of Virginia.  He was a member of the New York University Law Review.
