Kinsey Haffner is a Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop and also co-leads the New York office's intellectual property/technology licensing group. Mr. Haffner advises and represents corporate and technology clients on the interface between business and technology. He is specialized in outsourcing, procurement of information technology and IT systems, licensing and technology transfer. He has acted for major banks in their outsourcing of functions such as lock box and check processing, voice recognition systems (CRM), stock trading and settlement, very large (multi-country) network administration, electronic bill presentment and payment, administering defined-benefit benefit plans for bank clients, and providing tax return preparation services for bank trust department clients. He also has acted for major banks in their being an outsource provider of internet "e-check" and credit card processing and transaction processing and settlement services. In addition to outsourcing arrangements, Mr. Haffner is very experienced in professional services agreements; procurement of IT systems (hardware, software, maintenance and support), bandwidth, hosting agreements and collocation services and data stream licenses (financial news, market data, etc.); patent licenses; software licenses and software development agreements. He received his B.A. and J.D. from Stanford University. He is admitted to practice law in the state of California.
