Madhav Kalyan is Country Manager and Chief Representative of ICICI Bank's New York Representative Office. He is responsible for the performance of the US operations of India's largest private sector bank and the second largest among all banks in India with assets of nearly Rs. 1 trillion. Mr. Kalyan has been with the ICICI group since 1995, a period during which the group has grown manifold. He gained experience in trade finance, banking operations, corporate banking and lending, resources and strategic corporate planning. ICICI Bank is making a strong foray into the international markets and has identified Mr. Kalyan to build the Bank’s business in the US. ICICI Bank proposes to graduate from a representative office to a branch in the current year, subject to regulatory permissions and will focus on providing Indo – USA trade, treasury and financing solutions to companies operating in both geographies. The Bank also proposes to offer structured investment alternatives primarily targeted at the Indian diaspora. Mr. Kalyan has a mechanical engineer degree from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India and a post-graduate degree in business management from the XLRI, Jamshedpur in India and a banking diploma from the London School of Economics.
