Mary Heath is a Partner in the Financial Institutions and Products Tax Services practice of the Washington National Tax practice of KPMG.  In this capacity, Ms. Heath serves as a technical resource to clients and other offices of the Firm on tax issues affecting the taxation of financial products, structured finance transactions, securitizations and financial institutions.  Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Heath was a partner in the Capital Markets tax practice of another Big Five accounting firm. Ms. Heath served for two years on the staff of the Tax Legislative Counsel of the US Treasury.  In that role, Ms. Heath worked on legislative and administrative guidance in the areas of  financial products, securities dealers, hedging, consolidated returns and tax accounting methods. Ms. Heath speaks and writes frequently on tax issues of interest to financial intermediaries. Ms. Heath received a B.B.A. from the College of William and Mary, and is a CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
