| MICHAEL T. CLARK Executive Director, U.S.-India Business Council Michael T. Clark is Executive Director of the U.S.-India Business Council, the premier business organization fostering improved trade and investment ties between India and the United States. With more than 85 major U.S. corporate members, the Council works independently and with a variety of associations in India, including the Confederation of Indian Industry, The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the National Association of Software and Service Companies, to develop opportunities for expanded business relations, identify key impediments to trade, and propose recommendations for policy change in both nations. Under Dr. Clark’s leadership, the Council coordinated the American business community’s activism on India sanctions relief. During more than twenty years of international policy work, Dr. Clark has been advisor to several foreign ambassadors in Washington, D.C., developed senior policy groups on international financial and security issues, and held responsibilities as chief of staff of the Johns Hopkins Foreign Policy Institute. Dr. Clark graduated with honors from Harvard University, and holds an M.A. in Latin American studies and international economics, and a Ph.D. in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
