PETER T. BEACH is a tax partner in the San Francisco office of Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services, West Region. Prior to joining the firm, he was Director of the tax department at the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, in Manchester, New Hampshire. Previously, he was associated with Miller & Chevalier in Washington, D.C. Peter has been engaged in providing corporate tax advice exclusively since 1984. His practice focuses primarily on tax consulting services relating to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, spin-offs and tax-free reorganizations. He has additional expertise in certain specialty areas, including partnerships, S corporations and limited liability companies, taxation of timber and tax-exempt organizations. Peter has represented major private and public companies throughout his career, including Toyota Motor Sales USA, Yamaha, ARCO, Exxon, Freeport-McMoran, Unocal, IBM, State Street Bank and Trust Co., Scudder Stevens, INVESCO, Lombard-Odier, Lazard-Freres, and State Street Global Advisors. He has provided advice on a wide range of tax matters, including complex corporate and partnership structuring and transaction issues, for both private equity and strategic clients. Peter is also a frequent contributor to professional journals and speaks often at tax seminars. Peter received his B.A. degree in Administration and Management Science from Maharishi University of Management. He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School. Peter is a member of the New Hampshire and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
