Trent Johnson TRENT JOHNSON, is a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’s Structured Finance Group, is based in our Washington D.C. office. Trent is also a member of PwC’s Washington National Tax Practice. The focus of Trent’s practice is on the taxation of structured finance transactions, both domestic and cross-border. His extensive experience includes; creating hybrid or other innovative securitization, CDO, synthetic and leasing structures; structuring tax advantaged onshore and offshore special purpose entities; creating off balance sheet and on balance sheet finance structures; creating multi-jurisdictional special purpose entities to create favorable regulatory capital results; designing securitization liquidity facilities; developing term and revolving asset-backed transactions; and evaluating asset backed securities from an investor perspective. In addition to his securitization expertise, Trent is actively involved in developing new derivative products and financial instruments. Trent has lectured extensively the tax implications of securitizations and derivatives and is a coauthor of the U.S. taxation section of “Swaps/Financial Derivatives: Products, Pricing, Applications and Risk Management, 3rd Edition” published by Wiley. Trent is also a contributing author to PwC’s “CDO Transaction Monograph” and he has recently edited and updated the chapter on “Derivatives and Hedging Strategies” in the Corporate Controller’s Manual published by RIA. Trent is admitted to the State Bars of Georgia and Colorado, is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, and is a member of the American Securitization Forum. Prior to joining PwC, Trent was a tax associate at the law firm Kutak Rock where he provided tax advice to underwriters, issuers, and insurers with respect to securitization and financial product transactions. |
